SINDHULI: A 10-year-old girl died on the spot after she was run over by a tractor at Manwa Thapa Tole in Arun Thakur VDC-2 on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Binita Tamang, a local resident, police informed.

Tamang was on her way to school when the tractor (Sa 1 Ta 5522) ran over her along a narrow road this morning, said DSP Subhash Chandra Bohora of the Sindhuli District Police Office.

The minor's body has been sent to the Katari Hospital in Udayapur for postmortem.

Police are searching for the tractor driver, who is on the run following the incident. The vehicle has been impounded by the Dudhauli Police Post.
