BHOJPUR: Property worth around Rs 3.1 million was reduced to ashes when a fire destroyed four houses in Chyangre VDC-7 of Bhojpur district on Friday.

According to the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar, houses belonging to Dil Kumar Rai, Prem Bahadur Rai, Bed Bahadur Rai and Ram Bahadur Rai were gutted in the fire.

Police said that the fire that spread from a nearby forest destroyed the houses at around 1 pm yesterday.

The fire was later taken under control with the help of police personnel deployed from the Area Police Office Tiwaribhangyang and locals at around 5 pm, police informed.
