PM assures timely local elections at any cost

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stressed the need of early elections, assuring that the local elections would happen for sure.

PM Dahal, who tried his hand at the electronic voting machine at the Election Commission on Tuesday, also urged all to believe that the elections would be held on time.

PM stated that various elections-related bills had been endorsed from the Parliament and the government was ready to hold the elections.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said the government was for promoting electronic voting machines in upcoming elections.

"People have now become technology-friendly and in this election (of local bodies) we would use electronic devices," the PM informed.

Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav said the use of electronic devices would ensure fair, transparent, unbiased and economic election.
