IGC meeting

KATHMANDU: The long stalled Nepal-India commerce secretary-level talks has been scheduled for June 28 and 29 in New Delhi. The commerce secretary-level talks, which is also known as inter-governmental committee (IGC) meeting, is the implementing mechanism of trade treaty between the two countries and the treaty has envisaged the meeting of this mechanism at least once every six months, alternatively in Kathmandu and New Delhi. However, the meeting of IGC has not been held since January of 2014.
