Automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki Thursday launched here its new compact car Celerio.

It is priced at Rs.3.90 lakh-Rs.4.59 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

"Maruti Suzuki has always believed in offering cars that set new benchmarks of technology, style and overall costs in India," said Kenichi Ayukawa, managing director and chief executive, Maruti Suzuki.

"Celerio is the latest example that brings path breaking auto gear shift technology in cars for the first time in popular compact car segment."

According to the company, the automatic gear shift variant of the vehicle gives same fuel efficiency as the manual transmission at 23.1 litre per km.

The company added that the car is mated with the K-next engine. The new auto gear shift has been newly developed technology that promises superior drive experience to the users.
