For the first time, Cambodia will host the World Economic Forum on ASEAN Meeting from 10-12 May 2017 in Phnom Penh.

The theme of the meeting will be 'Youth, Technology and Growth: Securing ASEAN’s Digital and Demographic Dividends'.

"As the ASEAN bloc celebrates its 50th anniversary, the region faces a new era of rapid, non-linear change. The international order and its governing institutions face profound challenges," Justin Wood, Head of Asia Pacific and Member of the Executive Committee at the World Economic Forum.

"The technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution are bringing disruption at accelerating speed. The World Economic Forum on ASEAN is geared entirely towards helping the 10 nations of ASEAN to understand these pressing issues, to generate new thinking on how to navigate them and to catalyse initiatives to make a meaningful difference," he added.

Now in its 26th year, the meeting will focus on how the region can harness the potential of a young demographic, as well as the transformative impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, to foster inclusive economic growth.

More than 700 leaders from business, government, civil society and media are expected to participate in the meeting.
