Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), the Himalayan country's flag carrier, has launched online ticketing services.

However, the services which began on Sunday is only for the time being, Xinhua news agancy quoted the airlines as saying.

"Those willing to the travel on NAC planes can book tickets by using their foreign exchange-based international travel cards from anywhere in the world," the NAC said in a statement.

However, the state-owned airline said it was working on adjusting the system in domestic currency also.

NAC spokesman Rabindra Shrestha told Xinhua that the online booking system would help reduce the cost of tickets for travellers as the commission to be paid to the third parties for ticketing service will be reduced.
