Man held for stabbing Karnataka Lokayukta

Karnataka Lokayukta Justice P Vishwanatha Shetty was stabbed inside his office in Bengaluru today by a man identified as Tejas Shetty. Justice Shetty has been rushed to hospital and his condition is reported to be stable.

Justice Shetty took over as the new Lokayukta in January this year. The assailant apparently walked into his office and stabbed the judge thrice in the stomach. The motive for the attack is not known.

The Congress has admitted to a security lapse. CM Siddaramaiah is on his way to hospital to meet the judge.

The Congress said it was very serious about Lokayukta and action would be taken.
