Quite naturally, the big news that New Delhi is talking about (and it's not Sridevi's death) is former finance Minister P Chidambaram's son, Karti's arrest by the CBI.

Not a single senior Congress leader actually wants to support or for that matter react to Karti's arrest and our sources tell us that the AICC's media conference on Karti's arrest was just a formality.

Interestingly, senior Congress leader and former President of India Pranab Mukherjee was keen to know the inside details of the case and has sourced an FIR copy and also studied it.

It's no idle interest.

Sources said that during the UPA2 tenure (2010-2014), it was Mukherjee who alerted Sonia and Rahul Gandhi about Karti's possible involvement in INX Media.

Meanwhile, the Patiala House court is hearing Karti's bail plea. The Enforcement Directorate has opposed the bail plea.
