Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley thanked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for wishing him a speedy recovery. Jaitley has resumed work and is attending office in the afternoon.


Jaitley had been hospitalised at AIIMS Delhi for a kidney ailment and was expected to get a kidney transplant. The BJP leader has not been attending office since early this month.


Many insiders know that it was Arun Jaitley who had worked very hard to bring Nitish Kumar into the NDA fold.


The overnight drama of the JDU quitting the mahagathbandhan of the Congress and RJD and BJP supporting Nitish were all scripted in New Delhi between the trio of Amit Shah-Modi-Jaitley.


A little wonder then that Jaitley has special consideration for Bihar and affection for Nitish Kumar.


The Union Ministry of Finance is also expected to up allocations and grants for Bihar by early May according to a North Block source.
