Simi Garewal, TV hostess and yesteryear actress has set off a storm with her tweet about actor Salman Khan's conviction in the blackbuck killing case.

'Of one thing I am dead sure..@BeingSalmanKhan would NEVER EVER harm any animal. He loves them too much. The real culprit should be exposed. 20 years is too long to bear someone else's cross,' she posted on Twitter, drawing a torrent of comments, many of them supportive.

But what does Salman Khan himself have to say about this?

In an interview to Koel Puri Rinchet in 2008, when she tells Salman that she doesn't think he would have shot the blackbucks if he had known they were an endangered species, the actor pauses for around 15 seconds, sighs, and says, "It's a long story there."

And against pauses for a while, looking at Koel meaningfully, before saying slowly, "And I wasn't the one who shot the blackbucks."

When Koel probes, "So you took the rapt for it?' Salman replies, "No, no," and pauses, but doesn't say anything beyond that.

When she persists with, But you didn't point fingers at anyone else, he says, "There's no point," after which the interview meanders off to other aspects of his imprisonment.
