Mumbai rains: Situation improving, but alert continues

Mumbai city recorded 210 mm rainfall, suburb recorded 303 mm rainfall and Dahanu near Mumbai recorded 304 mm rainfall in the past 24 hours, K S Hosalikar, deputy director general of India Meteorological Department said.

"This has been recorded in the past 24 hours, till 8:30 am," he said, adding, "Warnings continue today but situation is improving. We are keeping a close watch." -- ANI
