Bangladesh FM meets Suu Kyi, likely to sign MoU on Rohingya repatriation

Bangladesh Foreign Minister A H Mahmood Ali met Myanmar's State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and reportedly discussed the Rohingya repatriation issue.


The long pending talks started yesterday, with an expectation of signing a Memorandum of Understanding to enable both countries to start the repatriation process of Rohingyas from Bangladesh to their homeland Myanmar.


Both countries are likely to sign an 'Arrangement on Return of Displaced Persons from Rakhine State' today, if they reach consensus."If things go well at the meeting, both sides will sign the MoU on Thursday," a Bangladeshi  official said on Wednesday. -- ANI
