Rajya Sabha TV CEO may become Amarinder Singh's media advisor

Gurdeep Singh Sappal, CEO of Rajya Sabha TV, is being tipped to become the media advisor to the newly elected Chief Minister of Punjab, Amarinder Singh.

Sappal had a meeting with Arun Jaitley, leader of the Rajya Sabha and also Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad, and conveyed his intention to quit as Rajya Sabha TV CEO. Sappal is also the Joint Secretary to Vice President of India Dr Hamid Ansari and his job profile includes dealing with the media in the Rajya Sabha and helps the RS chair, Dr Ansari, in handling ticklish issues. He also liaises with the opposition parties leaders in conducting the Rajya Sabha proceedings.
