The CBI has announced an award of Rs 5 lakh for information on two fugitive Sanatan Sansthan members, Sarang Akolkar and Vinay Pawar, who have been named as the killers of activist Dr Narendra Dabholkar in the chargesheet filed by the agency.

Akolkar and Pawar along with others have already been declared wanted and a red corner notice has been issued on them after the 2009 Madgaon blast.

Dabholkar, an anti-superstition crusader and activist, was shot dead by two bike-borne men while on a morning walk on August 20, 2013 in Pune.

According to CBIs chargesheet, the bike, though not recovered yet, is believed to have belonged to Dr Virendra Tawde, who has been arrested in connection with the case.
