Samajwadi Party's national vice president Kironmoy Nanda has said that his party will be entering into an alliance with the Congress for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.

However, the Rashtriya Lok Dal will not be a part of the alliance, he said.

"Yes we are entering into an alliance with Congress, seats will be announced soon. There were no talks with RLD," Nanda said.

Nanda said Samajwadi Party will contest on 300 plus seats out of the total 403, leaving the rest for the Congress.

Earlier, Congress in-charge for UP Ghulam Nabi Azad had confirmed that the party will join hands with the SP for UP polls. -- PTI, ANI
