Why PC is s RS nominee from Maharashtra
May 30, 2016  15:44
There is stiff opposition from both BJP and Congress leaders in Karnataka over the nomination of Venkaiah Naidu and P Chidamabram respectively to the Rajya Sabha from the state.

It is believed that BS Yeddyurappa opposed Naidu's candidature because it was Naidu who along with the then Karnataka state unit chief Ananth Kumar was instrumental in removing Yeddy from the Chief Ministership of Karnataka. Both men are loyal to the LK Adavni camp. Yeddy bided his time and took revenge now.

Similarly, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Siddaramaiah opposed Chidambaram beause there are many criminal cases against PC's son Karthik and wife Nalini and Karnataka Congress leaders also don't want Chidambaram to be nominated.

Consequently, Venkaiah Naidu had to rush to Jaipur, Rajasthan, to file his nomination to the Rajya Sabha, while Chidambaram was nominated from Maharashtra for the biennial elections.
