ABVP, Bajrang Dal 'purify' ground with gangajal after Kanhaiya's address

As a mark of protest against Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union president Kanhaiya Kumar, a group of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and Bajrang Dal members in Bihars Begusarai district purified the statue of Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar with gangajal on Friday, after Kanhaiya garlanded and paid floral tributes to it.

ABVP and Bajrang Dal members also organised a hawan puja and sprinkled gangjal over the ground where Kanhaiya addressed a public meeting organised by the Communist Party of India on Thursday.

Kanhaiya, who has been charged with sedition, has made this ground impure by his presence. We have held a hawan puja and sprinkled gangajal to make it pure again, an ABVP member said.

Kanhaiya arrived in Patna on Wednesday and participated in Pratirodh march to support the ongoing agitation at college of arts and crafts.

He is currently visiting his native village -- Bihat in Begusarai, where his parents stay. From M I Khan in Patna.
