Special prayers at Varanasi ghat for Siachen survivor

Special prayers are being offered at Ganga Ghat in Varanasi for speedy recovery of Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad, who was rescued from Siachen after being buried under 35-ft snow for six days.

Koppad is comatose and has been put on life support. Doctors said his condition is 'extremely critical'. They said the next 24 hhours are crucial for his recovery.
