Former Air Force chief SP Tyagi, who was arrested by the CBI on Friday for alleged corruption in the Rs 3,600-crore AgustaWestland chopper deal, has been produced before a Delhi court.

Tyagi tells the court:

* I am not a lawyer so I dont understand the need for arrest, but I am not going anywhere.

* Can account for my agricultural land purchase. In this nation, if you're arrested you're arrested. You're on TV channels, says

S P Tyagi's counsel says:

* Procurement of chopper deal was a collective decision.

* There has to be specific purpose for custodial interrogation... When you (CBI) have I-T returns filed by family members (of Tyagi), why the arrest now?

* Remand papers say the CBI is seeking custody to follow money trail and transfer of funds through 'banking channels'. If banking channels have not been investigated what will the CBI do now? The arrest is only to use third-degree on the accused. Gautam Khaitan wasnt even questioned by the CBI yesterday.
