2 Lashkar terrorists killed in Anantnag encounter

Two Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorists have been shot dead in an encounter with security forces in south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Thursday, police said.

A search operation was launched in Hassanpora village in Bijbehara area of Anantnag this morning following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the village, a police official said.

He said as the security forces were conducting the search operation, the terrorists fired upon them triggering an encounter.

Two terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire.
