VP Ansari briefs President on Monsoon Session

Rajya Sabha chairman and Vice President Hamid Ansari on Wednesday paid a courtesy call to President Pranab Mukherjee to brief him about the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament.

He also informed the president of the salient new initiatives taken by the Upper House in ensuring that the government is made accountable in policy matters.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be meeting the President on Saturday -- just before the monsoon session begins.
