3 cops, 1 civilian injured after grenade attack by militants in Srinagar

Three cops including an officer and a civilian were wounded in a powerful hand grenade blast in downtown Khanyar locality of the summer capital Srinagar this evening.        

A senior police officer said militants lobbed a hand grenade at a naka party of the security forces near police station Khanyar this evening which exploded injuring three cops and a civilian.     

"The injured who included a police ASI, two paramilitary central reserve police force (CRPF) troopers and a civilian were evacuated to hospital for treatment,' the officer said.       

The area was immediately surrounded and searches were mounted as reinforcements were rushed to the area.
