Salman being targeted for his celebrity status, says father Salim Khan

Days after Bollywood's 'Bhaijaan' Salman Khan stirred a controversy by opposing the death penalty for 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict Yakub Memon, his father, veteran writer Salim Khan, dismissing his son's tweets as "childish and meaningless".

In an interview to India Today, Salim said that Salman was being targeted for his celebrity status.

Salim said that should not have tweeted things about which he has little knowledge. "It was his foolishness. He said what all he must have heard."
