UPCC goes, but its chief Nirmal Khatri stays on

Just In: The Congress has dissolved the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee. However, the PCC chief, Nirmal Khatri, stays.

This was announced by party general secretary Janardan Dwivedi.

The dissolution follows the Congress party's rout in the recent Lok Sabha elections, in which the party won just two of the 30 seats from the state. Not surprisingly, these two seats were Amethi and Rae Bareli, represented by Rahul and Sonia Gandhi respectively.
