Actor-turned-politician Hema Malini landed in trouble in 2007 for raising whats just her second question in Parliament. Hema suggested an excise cut on the water purifiers that use the reverse osmosis technology, saying the equipment used for water purification using this process be given tax cuts.

However, the first-time-MP probably forgot that she has a direct, commercial link with one such equipment manufacturer.

Hema endorses Kent RO water purifiers and this has landed her in bit of hot water with Parliament's ethics committee.

Parliament rules that say an MP cannot raise any question in House for a product that he/she endorses.
