Pak violates ceasfire again

Mukhtar Ahmad reports from Srinagar: Hours after the visit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Jammu and Srinagar where he addressed poll rallies, Pakistani troops violated the bilateral ceasefire on the Line of Control in the Balakote sector of Poonch district on Monday evening.

"There was a ceasefire violation in the Balakote sector. Pakistani soldiers resorted to unprovoked firing at 8 pm using small arms till 8:10 pm,' a defence spokesman said in a statement.

"We responded by our own troops. There has been no causality since the last report came in,' the statement said. The two countries had agreed to a bilateral ceasefire on the borders in November 2003 which held for a long time.
