Indian envoy to Saudi all set to get a year's extension

Our correspondent in New Delhi: Indian Ambassador in Saudi Arabia Hamid Ali Rao, a close acquaintance of External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, is all set to get a one year extension, according to informed sources in the South Block.

The Lok Sabha poll Model Code of Conduct does not come in the way of such bonanzas,' a former diplomat comments. It is stated that the file for Rao's extension was pending with the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, and that the minister could find time now to propose it to Prime Minister.
