UP CM Yogi Adityanath transfers 20 IAS officers in major bureaucratic reshuffle

Among those officers transferred is Naveneet Sehgal who was considered to be the closest bureaucrat of former CM Akhilesh Yadav.

In its first and major bureaucratic reshuffle, the 24-day-old Yogi government on Wednesday transferred 20 IAS officials. The pick of the shuffle was Navneet Sehgal who was considered to be the strongest and the closest bureaucrat of former CM Akhilesh Yadav, amongst others.

Sehgal was relieved of all his important and "plump" posts and has been put in waiting along with others. He has been presided over by Avnish Awasthi who will handle all the responsibilities of Sehgal.

Awasthi will now be the principal secretary (Information, Tourism and Religious Affairs) and CEO of the UP Industrial Development Authority and the UP State Highway Authority.

It is to be mentioned that Awasthi was on deputation in New Delhi was was relieved earlier this month after a request from Yogi.

ADITYANATH GETS NEW SECRETARY

Meanwhile, senior IAS officer Mritunjay K Narayan will now be the secretary of the CM.

Another close confidant of both Akhilesh and former CM Mayawati, Rama Raman has also been relieved of all his charges and put on wait.

Divisional commissioner of Meerut, Alok Sinha has been entrusted with the all the departments that were held by Raman, which are principal secretary of infrastructure and industrial development, NRI department and chairmanship of Noida authority.

Meanwhile, investment commissioner, Amit Mohan Prasad has been given the additional charge of CEO Noida and Greater Noida authority. Deepak Agarwal, who held the charge, has been put on the wait list.

Raj Bahadur Singh, who is the member of the revenue board, has been given the charge of additional chief secretary of Mining department. He has taken over the charge from Gurdeep Singh, who was considered close to the jailed former Mining minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati.

Dimple Verma who was the principal secretary (Child Development and Nutrition), has been put on wait list and her responsibilities has now been given to Anita Meshram.

Apart from them, there are other "big" names on the list too.

Amit Kumar Ghosh, MD, UP State Industrial Development Corporation, Minor Industries Corporation and Commissioner and Director, Industries; Hariom, vice-chairman, Ghaziabad Development Authority, Secretary Culture and Anit Singh, principal secretary, Estate Department are put on hold.
