In raids carried out early this morning in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, sleuths of the Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided the residence and properties of a tehsildar of Bheemili in Visakhapatnam. The raids were conducted on the charges of having amassed properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.

ACB sources believe that the tehsildar has accumulated properties worth over Rs 50 crores.

Several teams of ACB raided the premises of Tehsildar BTV Rama Rao at 4 places in Visakhapatnam, 2 locations in Hyderabad and at one place at Rajahmundry.

Teams led by ACB DSP K Ramakrishna Prasad have so far recovered Rs 41 lakh in cash, gold ornaments weighing 1 kg, a hose worth Rs 30 lakh and commercial shops worth Rs 75 lakh from the tehsildar.

ACB sleuths also seized keys of 4 lockers at various banks that are yet to be opened.

The raids are expected to continue till the evening as value of several other properties is yet to be ascertained.
