Uttar Pradesh can learn how to conserve its rivers from MP: Yogi Adityanath
Yogi Adityanath said he has come to MP to learn how rivers can be conserved.
The ongoing "Namami Devi Narmada yatra" of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is not just aimed at conserving the Narmada river but conserving the entire human race, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said while exhorting people to join hands with Chouhan on this noble mission in Dindhori today.
Before joining the Namami Devi Yatra, Yogi stopped at Mandla to attend a private family function of union minister of state for health Faggan Singh Kulaste.
The Namami Devi Yatra started on December 11, 2016 from Amarkantak, the originating point of the Narmada river and will conclude on May 15 at the starting point, after travelling alongside the banks of the river for 118 days.
The Yatra now on its return journey reached Dindhori on Friday where it was joined by Yogi Adityanth.
Addressing the public that had congregated to welcome the Yatra, Yogi said, "I have just become the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. I have come here to learn how rivers can be conserved. Prime Minister Modi has tasked us to clean the Ganga river and hopefully we will be able to to replicate in UP what Chouhan has done in MP".
Speaking on the occasion, Chouhan said Yogi had done a remarkable job in UP in just 40 days and everyone is now looking up to him.
Chouhan also administered an oath to the public pledging all steps would be taken to stop the pollution of the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh.
