Two men were caught on CCTV lobbing a hand grenade at a bank office in Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun district on Friday. They later fled with cash Rs 3 lakh.

In what can be called a robbery bid straight from a Bollywood potboiler, two men today lobbed a hand grenade at a Bank in Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun district in broad daylight.

They reportedly fled with cash Rs 3 lakh. The incident took place at around 11 am on Friday.

Although more details are awaited, the shocking incident came to light after it was captured on one of the CCTV cameras that were installed in the bank.

The video shows the staff working in the quaint bank office, when the two men armed with the grenade enters and hurls it at them.

Soon after there is an explosion leading to dense smoke in the office.

No injuries or loss of life has been reported so far.

The perpetrators are yet to be identified, however, the Kanpur Zone ADG Avinash Chandra said that efforts to nab the accused are underway.

"We are trying to find the criminals, active patrolling needs to be done to avoid any such incidents in the future," Chandra told ANI.
