Bodies of two girls, who went missing for three days from their village in Kanpur, were recovered from the ravines in Etawah district today morning.

Looking at the bodies, police suspect that the girls were sexually abused. Initial reports suggest that they were murdered with some sharp object.

The parents of the two girls, Yogita (18) and Himani (17) went missing after school from Rania in Kanpur on Monday, alleged that when they first filed a missing, the authorities asked them to conduct one on their own.

On Wednesday, angry family members and neighbours created ruckus at the Rania police station, following which the station house in-charge Ram Krishna Gangwar was suspended for dereliction of duty.

Superintendent of Police Dinesh Pal Singh informed that after the bodies were discovered, a case of kidnapping and murder has been filed against one, Kuldeep Singh, and some unknown persons, following accusations by the family.

Singh was apparently friends with one of the girls.

The police have however failed to find information about the third girl, Laxmi, who also went missing with Yogita and Himani.
