Telangana: CM KCR continues his temple run, to offer gold ornament at Vijaywada temple

In February this year, the Telangana CM had donated Rs 5 crore worth gold ornaments to Lord Venkateswara Swamy in Tirumala-Tirupati of Andhra Pradesh.

Last year during the Navaratra festival, Telangana Chief Minister K CM K Chandrasekhar Rao had offered 11 kg gold ornaments worth Rs 3.7 crore to goddess Bhadrakali of the famous Warangal temple of the state. This year the chief minister has decided to offer 'Mukku Pudaka' (nose stud) to Goddess Kankadurga.

CM K Chandrasekhar Rao popularly known as KCR and his family would pay a visit to Vijayawada in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh on September 27 as part of the 'Navratri Utsavalu' and offer the gift to the famous goddess at her hill temple.

KCR - THE SERIAL GOLD 'DONOR'

In February this year, the Telangana CM had donated Rs 5 crore worth gold ornaments to Lord Venkateswara Swamy in Tirumala-Tirupati of Andhra Pradesh. CM has also presented 'Bangaru Meesalu' (gold moustache) worth Rs 60,000 to Veerabhadra Swamy Temple in Kuravi of Mahabubabad district of the state.

The Telangana Rastr Samiti chief had promised during the agitation for a separate state that he will make offerings to the temple if statehood was granted to Telangana. The CM is now fulfulling his vows.

PALATIAL Rs 33 CRORE HOUSE

KCR's extravagant spending on his spiritual needs has drawn flak from opposition parties as well as several activists who have raised question on him as a CM using state exchequer for fulfillment of his vow taken as an individual.

Earlier, the chief minister attracted criticism when he had got a swanky palatial residence-camp office built on a 8.9 acre plot at a cost of about Rs 33 crore.

The complex also has a parking for 200 cars.

KCR also held a ritual called 'Ayutha Chandi Maha Yagnam' in 2015 aiming to appease the rain gods as Telangana was facing drought-like situation due to scanty rainfall.

It was alleged that KCR spent over Rs 15 crore on the 'Yagnam' was performed by spending over 15 crore. However, the chief minister and his family members including minister son K Tarak Ramarao (KTR) and MP daughter K. Kavita maintained that the ritual was strictly a personal affair which was funded by KCR and his family, and Tealangana Rastra Samiti leaders and well-wishers.
