BJP leaving no stone unturned in effort to make Shivaji Memorial bhoomipujan a grand affair
After more than a decade the Shivaji Maharaj memorial will be see the light of the day in the Arabian Sea. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be performing the Jal poojan and bhoomipoojan for the memorial on Saturday?

A day ahead of the foundation laying ceremony of the grand Shivaji Memorial in the Arabian sea, there was a huge show of strength by the BJP in Mumbai. From bike rallies to floats to a grand song and dance show at Gateway of India, It was BJP all the way. With BJP hogging all the limelight Shiv Sena leaders amd Ministers preferred to give the ceremony a miss.

The BJP that has included this project in its poll manifesto is leaving no stone unturned in trying to make it a grand affair.
- A day before the bhoomipoojan , BJP workers from all 36 diatricts of Maharashtra collected Water from various rivers in the tate and soil from forts of Shivaji Maharaj for the foundation stone ceremony. The "Kalash" (pots) containing the soil and water was handed over to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in a glittering ceremony.
- Earlier, a float carrying the water and soil rallied around in Mumbai. Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil, Cultural Affairs Minister Vinod Tawde, State President Raosaheb Danwe, Mumbai President Aashish Shelar led the procession atop an open jeep thatbwas decorated as a fort. Hundreds of party workers also participated in a bike rally from Chembur to Gateway of India.
- The procession included depictions from the lige of Shivaji and also featured art and war forms like Mallkhamb, Dandpatta, Lezim.
- The procession received a grand welcome at the Gateway of India where folk arts of Maharashtra were staged. The huge stage resembling the Shivaji era architecture was made by notted Bollywood Art Director Nitin Desai. But with BJP hogging all the limelight Shivsena Ministers preferred to stay away from Friday's function.
- The fanfare is likely to continue on saturday as well. On the day of Bhoomi poojan , places like the Bandra-worli Sealink, Girgaum Chowpatty, Worli sea face will witness attractive dcor and programs on the streets depicting the culture of Maharashtra
