Accompanied by Bengal Sports Minister Arup Biswas, Banerjee met Bandopadhyay under a strict vigil of CBI officials.

WE ARE WAITING FOR JUSTICE: MAMATA

"He is not well at all, he is totally bed ridden and has lost a lot of weight. His physical and mental condition is very poor. For a veteran politician like him, who has always had a clean image, the way they have kept him in jail is unfortunate. He broke down after seeing me," Banerjee told reporters at the hospital.

"We have full faith in judiciary. We are waiting for justice," she said.

The chief minister said she had asked her MP to remain strong and pen down his experience in jail, so as to share the pain with the world. Not just Bandopadhyay, another TMC MP Tapas Pal too is lodged in a jail in Bhubaneswar in the same case.

On being asked about the possibility of a meeting with her Odisha counterpart and Biju Janata Dal chief Naveen Patnaik, Banerjee said she was keen to meet him during her stay in Odisha.

"I met Naveen ji in Delhi few days back. I'm here tomorrow, if he gives time I will surely meet him," she said.
