By-poll in Jaya's RK Nagar: Clashes break out between Panneerselvam and Dinakaran factions of AIADMK; 1 injured
For the second time in a week, clashes broke out today in Chennai between AIADMK factions led by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam on one hand, and General Secretary VK Sasikala, Deputy General Secretary TTV Dinakaran, and Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami on the other.

One man was injured after violence broke out today between rival factions of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in Chennai's Ezhil Nagar, ahead of a symbolic by-election in Dr Radhakrishnan Nagar (or RK Nagar), the late Jayalalithaa's former constituency.
Earlier this year, the AIADMK split into factions led by General Secretary VK Sasikala and Deputy General Secretary TTV Dinakaran on one hand, and former Chief Minister O Pannerselvam on the other. The former, to which Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswami belongs, is called the AIADMK Amma, and the latter, the AIADMK Puratchi Thalaivi Amma.
This isn't the first time members of the two camps have engaged in violence ahead of the by-poll.
Several people were injured when the two factions clashed earlier this week, and senior AIADMK leader E Madhusudhan's car was damaged.
Madhusudhanan is the AIADMK Puratchi Thalaivi Amma's candidate for the by-election. He will face off against the AIADMK Amma's TTV Dinakaran - Sasikala's nephew - in the April 12 by-poll.
