Chennai RJ's Cauvery take: Remember, it was Karnataka that helped us during floods

In his recent video, Chennai's famous RJ Balaji has come forward to plead for calm as protests erupt in parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu over rights on water. Not only are the people resorting to vandalism and attacking public places like Woodlands restaurant, instances of setting buses on fire have also been reported.

RJ Balaji has taken to Facebook to send his message across in a video. He said that whatever is going on in Chennai and Karnataka is so cheap that it doesn't even deserve to be talked about.

"As we all know, it's not the common people who have torched KPN buses in Karnataka. It's not the common people like me and you who vandalised Woodlands hotel," he said. He also said that the people behind this aren't willing to bring this entire episode to an end but are rather hoping that this grows into something bigger.

Pleading for a rational outlook towards the furore, RJ Balaji said, "At this point, let's make sure we do not add fuel to the fire by sharing those horrific videos and memes online. Let's not lose sensitivity over politics."

He has said that at this point, people have to be sensible in their actions.

Striking a chord of humanity, RJ Balaji said that it was Karnataka which helped Chennai during the floods last year in December.

"Just because some Karnataka and Tamil Nadu lunatics do some inhuman stuff, let's not lose our mind. I hope the administrative authorities arrest these goons who are responsible for sensationalising this issue," said Balaji.

The Facebook post has gathered a lot of attention on social media with 1.6 million views and nearly 68,000 shares.
