CENTRE UNHAPPY WITH KHATTAR GOVERNMENT?

Sources told India Today that the Centre is not happy with the way Manohar Lal Khattar goverment handled situation in Panchkula. Centre believes that there was enough deployment of forces including the paramilitary forces. Sources said that the Centre is of the view that the Khattar government had enough force at its disposal to keep the situation from turning violent.

India Today has learned that the home ministry held a meeting about nine days ago to review the security arrangements ahead of the Ram Rahim verdict. After that meeting, Haryana had asked for 250 companies that was almost more than double than the force deployed during Jat reservation.

As many as 250 companies, equivalent to nearly 40,000 security personnel, were available at Khattar government's disposal. This is almost the strength of the Haryana Police force.

Considering that paramilitary forces are already deployed in Kashmir, Indo-China border and other sensitive locations, the home ministry sanctioned 150 CRPF companies to Haryana.
