After much speculation, Delhi Assembly Speaker and AAP MLA Ram Niwas Goel today discarded rumours of joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The MLA from Shahdara constituency cleared the air that he was not quitting the AAP and alleged some BJP members were spreading rumours about him.

This rumour comes amidst party's ongoing crisis since civic poll defeat.

Goel, who was with the BJP before, speaking to media said, "I will be with the AAP till the last breath of my life. Through a vicious campaign, the BJP wanted the dedicated AAP volunteers to believe that I was leaving the party to join them."

He added, "Since I was made the speaker, I have always strived to keep myself above politics. But the rumours that have gathered steam off late, forced me to come out and issue this clarification."

AAP managed to put a stop to a huge crisis on Wednesday when its leader Kumar Vishwas threatened to leave the party if MLA Amanatullah Khan was not shown the doors. Finally party high command named Kumar Vishwas AAP in-charge of Rajasthan, where Assembly elections will be held next year. Meanwhile, Khan was suspended from party's primary membership.
