A woman from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh has accused Phalahari baba of Alwar in Rajasthan of raping her on August 7.

A 21-year-old woman from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh has filed a sexual assault complaint against a self-styled godman in Rajasthan.
A First Information Report or FIR has been filed against Alwar's Kaushalendra Phalahari Maharaj, 70, on the complaint of the woman who accused him of sexually exploiting her.
The victim has accused the baba of raping her on August 7.
The woman said in her complaint that Phalahari Maharaj, who owns a sprawling ashram in Alwar, also threatened her of dire consequences if she reports the matter to police.
"A girl from Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur has lodged a sexual assault complaint against Baba Phalahari," said Alwar SP, Rahul Prakash.

According to reports, when the police reached his ashram, Phalahari baba got himself admitted to a private hospital complaining of ill health. A police team is currently stationed outside the hospital to take him away for questioning.
"Babaji is currently hospitalised. There is a conspiracy to defame saints," said a close aide of baba.
