In an exclusive interview with India Today, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray's wife, Sharmila Thackeray said, railway infrastructure has not improved as per the to growing population.

"I travelled by train for 30 years when I used to work. Since then nothing has changed only the crowd has increased, but rail infrastructure remains same which is causing lot of problems to all commuters." said Sharmila Thackeray.

Thackeray also criticized the railway authority for not improving railways and providing quality amenities to commuters.

"Despite many agitations against railway you think they have woken up? There are not enough toilets for women. All railway bridges are occupied by hawkers. What is the railway doing on that?", asked Thackeray.

After the Elphinstone tragedy railways have formed several teams to conduct survey during peaks hours. These teams will be submitting their reports to authorities on October 8. Sharmila Thackery attacked the railway authorities and asked why are they still sleeping? Why can't they remove all those hawkers who have grabbed the entire bridges. It was MNS who cleared the Mulund bridge but this should have been done by the railways.

In Thursday's rally, Raj Thackeray gave a 15-days ultimatum to railway authorities to remove all hawkers from railway bridges, or else MNS will launch another rally in their own style.

"I feel 15-days should be enough for them to act, let's see what happens", told Sharmila Thackeray.

Today's rally had MNS workers coming from far flung places of Maharashtra like Pune, Nasik, Konkan, Thane, and Karjat. According to Mumbai Police, approximately 12,000-15,000 people had participated in the rally.

What's more interesting was the fact that apart from MNS supporters, Raj Thackeray's entire family was present to support him in the protest.
