Ashish Kulkarni, close aide of Rahul Gandhi and member of Congress coordination center has questioned the intentions behind the rumours of Priyanka Gandhi's inclusion as the working president of Congress.

While sending his resignation to Rahul Gandhi, Kulkarni stated that such rumours are being spread by party 'stalwarts' who couldn't find the reasons behind the party's rout in 2014 elections and are now trying to put the entire blame on Rahul Gandhi .

Terming these rumors 'disgusting,' Kulkarni wrote in the resignation letter that deliberate attempts are being made by the old guard to create a perception of lack of confidence in Rahul Gandhi's leadership.

Ashish, who has been associated with the congress coordination committee (war room) since 2009 has raised many questions regarding the current situation in the party.

In his 3-page letter to Rahul Gandhi he writes, "We have not been able to create depth of management in the party. Party's indecisiveness in Maharashtra, Assam, Goa, Arunachal and Uttharakhand has led to defeat and now it is been repeated in Himachal and Gujarat."

Questioning the party's stand over issues like Kashmir and JNU, Ashish has pointed out party's shift from a centrist position in the ideology. "Party has moved towards left, sympathizing with ultra left, Kashmiri separatist."

In the letter, Ashish has also been upfront about Congress's lack of agenda saying that the party has distanced itself from the grass root reality of India and has failed to address the changes in the scenario.

He also points out that there is no discussion on key economic issues, foreign policies and development and that the party's narrative as an opposition party is not appealing to voters.

In the end, he has held the old guard responsible for chaos in the party stating that Rahul Gandhi's efforts to bring in changes and the inner party democracy has failed. "Only the privileged or those with money power are getting preferences. Congress remains to be nepotistic and a feudal party, which is a tragedy for Congress," says the letter in its conclusion.

Congress hasn't reacted yet on the issues raised by Kulkarni.
