Man booked for Powai boat mishap caught on camera attacking MSAA staffers

Man booked for Powai boat capsized incident, assaulted manager and workers of Maharashtra state Angling Association (MSAA) after being expelled from the club membership. The whole incident occurred on Wednesday and captured on CCTV camera.

On December 23 night, a group of eight friends had gone to party on the Powai lake before the Christmas eve. The boat overturned after hitting rocks. Five people were saved but three died after drowning.

After the incident an filed FIR was filed and boat owner Newton Joshua, 49 was arrested. Boat navigator Abu Mandal, 25 and manager Maqbool Sheikh, 45. Joshua was later released on bail

.ACCUSED TERMINATED FROM MSAA

The MSAA in the matter took urgent meeting and terminated membership of Newton Joshua. Attached the letter copy of termination letter from MSAA.

Joshua angered over the termination went inside the office and assaulted the staff members on Wednesday. He even took his two dogs with him in the office and threatened to unleash the dogs on them.

In CCTV footage, Joshua is seen slapping one of the staff. He even damaged the electronic items present in the office.

CO-WORKERS IN SHOCK

The incident shockwaves among the co-workers who were present at the office. He also hit a worker with a rope kept for boating.

Senior police inspector Bhai Mahadeshwar of Powai police station speaking to India Today said, "Joshua is accused on the boat capsize incident. He was arrested and later released on bail. In the current case we have registered NC in the matter."
