The ambit of investigations into the operations of self-proclaimed godman accused of human trafficking activities Virendra Dev Dixit has expanded to Rajasthan's Sirohi district.

Abu Road police reached the Santpur Naya kheda branch of 'Aadhyatmik Vishvavidyala' or 'Academic University' on Saturday and began its investigations there.

The police spoke with 72 girls and enquired about whether they were staying there forcibly. As per the police, the girls mentioned that they were staying there out of their own wish and without any pressure.

The police has informed its senior officials about the investigations that went on for approximately one and a half hours there.

"As per directions of senior officials, we physically checked at the branch of Academic University centre being operated here in Santpur. Orders had been received to check about its activities," Midulal, Abu road Station incharge, said.

"Documents regarding its registration will be produced tomorrow and in that, it has been mentioned that there were 72 girls studying. We will approach the Sirohi Child Welfare Committee to visit again. We are taking information about the building owner", he added.

Investigation into the situation at the Abu Road centre in Rajasthan's Sirohi district was directed on the orders by high ranking police officials.

All the girls staying at the Abu road centre were less than 18 years of age.

Earlier, in December last year, at least three centres that were being operated by Virendera Dev Dixit were raided in various parts of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
