PM Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch Mission Antyodya in mid-April around Dr. BR Ambedkar's birthday.

This is said to the BJP's master plan as part of its preparations to boost the party's prospects for the 2019 general elections.

WHAT IS MISSION ANTYODYA?
  1. Under this mission, the party's focus will be on eradicating poverty from 50,000 gram panchayat areas.
  2. The roadmap for the project is ready and according to sources, loopholes in the Adarsh Gram Yojana will also be taken into consideration.
  3. As part of this project, the said 50,000 gram panchayats will have a proper drinking water facility, a social security system in place for senior citizens. Even issues concerning women and Divyang will be given more focus.
  4. The purpose behind providing these facilities is to bring these villages at par with villages.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rajeev Gowda has said, "Finally they have woken up to rural development. They should have developed rural India since 2014 when they came to power."
