Nitish Kumar flags off 'Gandhi Raths' in Bihar to spread Gandhian philosophy

Nitish Kumar said that the 'Gandhi rath' would reach every panchayat of Bihar for a year with a view to make people, particularly the younger generation, aware of Gandhian philosophy through audio and video presentation.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today flagged off "Gandhi Raths" across the state in a bid to reach every household to spread the message of Mahatma Gandhi to mark the completion of 100 years of Champaran Satyagrah.

Several hi-tech buses equipped with LCD screens and having the audio-visuals facility will be touring all the panchayats across Bihar in next one year to propagate Bapu's philosophy.

"It is important that the people in the state, especially the younger generation should know about the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi. Therefore the government is flagging off "Gandhi Raths" across Bihar which will spread the preaching of Bapu", said Nitish Kumar on Monday during the event in Patna to kickstart the centenary celebrations of Champaran Satyagrah.

Nitish also asserted that the philosophy that Gandhiji used at that time is very important now days, when there is intolerance and hostility in the country. The "Gandhi Raths" will be playing out an hour long documentary on the life of Mahatma Gandhi from his childhood till he breathed last.

Before flagging off the "Gandhi Raths", Nitish also watched the hour long documentary which was produced by the Information and Public Relation Department of the state government and he was very much impressed.
