The contestants were: Siddharth Pillai and Omkar Arora from Chettinad Vidyashram, Paavas Bhasin and Ayan Marwaha from Modern School Barakhamba Road, and Stuti Aswani and Rhea Mathew from St Mary's School in Pune.

Interestingly, each team had some fun names for their team. While the Modern School Barakhamba team called themselves the "Chai mein dooba biscuit", the St. Mary's School team referred to themselves as "Avogadro" after the Italian chemistry scientist, and the Chettinad Vidyashram team referred to themselves as "Einstein Frankenstein".

Cricket star Suresh Raina was the news guest for the first episode. Before the show got underway, Raina regaled the contestants with a quick rendition of Kishore Kumar song "Koi Nazrana leke aya hoon".

The first round - What's been in the news - ended with two teams, Chettinad Vidyashram, and Modern School Barakhamba Road, tied at 400 points each with St Mary's School close behind at 200 points.

The second round, Top Story, ended with Chettinad Vidyashram racing ahead to 700 points and Modern School Barakhamba Road straggling behind at 500 points. A negative score took away 50 points from St Mary's School, Pune, to close their tally at 150 points.

The Third round, Match Time, saw St Mary's School bounce back with a score of 500 with Modern School Barakhamba slightly ahead at 850 points and Chettinad Vidyashram leading the tally with 1050 points.

The last and final round, News Buzz, saw the Chettinad Vidyashram and Modern School Barakhamba Road tied at 1150 points each.
