Mohali's beer lovers have a reason to cheer as India's biggest beer chain - The Beer Cafe recently opened an outlet there. It is a sheer delight to step into the place as the light, cheery setting of the place is strikingly unique.

Located on the second floor of North Country Mall on National Highway 21, this is the chain's 23rd outlet in the country. Step into the place and you will immediately know why the chain has been such a hit all-over the country. Considering the fact that a growing number of youngsters here prefer beer over other spirits, such outlets have always enjoyed immense popularity in this part of the country. The brands you can find here simply leave you counting. The Cafe offers over fifty top beer brands from 17 countries and all under one roof. The outlet has a variety of international beers such as Amstel Light, Bavaria and the Indian favourite Kingfisher. One thing is for sure, you will be spoilt for choice. A suggestion-don't just stick to your favourite brand, try out other makes too. The food menu has been customised keeping in mind local preferences and how well the dishes would pair with popular brews, including north Indian cuisines and finger food. Of course, cheese chilly and french fries are as popular here as in their other outlets.

Style for all

Looking for a makeover? Head straight to Chandigarh-based fashion studio Anjul's A Line and get bombarded with a wide range of accessories, silver jewellery, and contemporary and traditional clothing.

Specialising in Indian, Indo-Western and western wears, the boutique, run by 24-year-old Akita Choudhry, caters to women across age groups. "From 16 to 40, we have something for everyone. Considering the fact that even younger girls are becoming quite conscious about what rules the fashion word, it makes sense to tap that market," says Choudhry.

Stressing that providing excellent quality at competitive pricing makes them one of the favourite fashion houses in the region, Choudhry elaborates, "We have an in-house design team and manufacturing unit. This helps us to keep the prices at bare minimum and ensure that the quality of products is never compromised. Customers are increasingly becoming aware of what is being offered to them. There is so much competition that you cannot affoard to compromise on quality or price your products too high."

Not just Chandigarh, Anjul's A Line has a dedicated customer base across region. "We regularly hold exhibitions across the state including places like Amritsar, Ludhiana and Jalandhar. The response has always been phenomenal in those cities. People in Punjab have the money and more importantly, do not shy from spending it on quality products. Also, the fact that they keep themselves updated with the latest in fashion world really helps. Frankly, what has really worked for us is the word of mouth publicity. Our clients know that whatever they buy from us will be of very superior quality and promise true value for money," she says.
