After getting a clean chit from Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on the issue of office of profit, Punjab Cabinet minister and cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday launched a scathing attack on Badals and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal.

Speaking exclusively to India Today on the alleged wrongdoings of the previous government, Sidhu said he does not believe in vendetta politics and the law will take its course soon. Attacking former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his family for having failed to safeguard the interests of the state and its people, Sidhu said their business interests conflicted with that of the state which pushed Punjab into a debt trap.

"The past is a bucket full of ashes. When someone tries to promote his own business at the cost of the exchequer, it is a conflict of interest. They built Sukhvilas (Sukhbir Singh Badal's hotel) ignoring the sorrows of the people of the state. The hotels owned by Punjab in other states inluding Goa were shut down and state's tourism was ignored," Sidhu said.

Sidhu said the new government has big plans to promote state's tourism industry and he will request Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to be state's brand ambassador to boost the tourism.

Slamming the AAP and Kejriwal, Sidhu said despite having gone to the people to expose the previous government, they were rejected by the people. He said Kejriwal's intent was doubtful which led to party's drubbing in the Assembly elections.

"I had warned Kejriwal who failed to garner people's support and trust despite the propaganda. His intent was not clear. People who earlier used to say that the whole Punjab was with Kejriwal are now taking a jibe and asking 'Kejriwal Ye Ki Hoya Tere Naal( Kejriwal what happened to you)," Navjot Singh Sidhu said.

Meanwhile, Sidhu, who had earlier said that he may play a mediator to end the bitterness between comedian Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, now distanced himself from the issue and refused to make any comment.
